Duties and Responsibilities

- Supervises, recruits, trains and evaluates hall staff and 1-3 Assistant Resident Directors (graduate staff) in assigned residence hall(s) or apartment area.
- Provides resources and support for the activities and programs in the hall(s).
- Advises one of the following residence life student organizations: Hall Council, Residence Hall Association, Apartment Liaisons, or National Residence Hall Honorary.
- Participates in the departmental 24/7 on-call duty and emergency response system for campus community of 4,100 residential students.
- Responsible for maintenance of residence halls in cooperation with the Facilities Department.
- Provides advice, support, assistance and referrals to resident students regarding academic, housing, personal or other concerns.
- Maintains weekly work schedule of 40 hours/week for residents and staff. Evening office hours are expected. There will be occasional weekend commitments.
- Performs administrative functions for day-to-day operations of residence hall(s) assigned.
- Serves as a chair on one departmental committee.
- Performs other duties as required by the Assistant Directors.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

Master Degree in college student personnel, higher education or human services field required. Live-in required. Experience working in residence life or student affairs required.
